After the entry into force of the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/2164 from the certification body specializing in organic production, the CAAE informs of new fertilizer and plant protection substances used for organic farming that can have the CAAE Input seal.
The new additions are as follows:
- Fertilizers based on humic and fulvic acids from leonardite.
- Basic substances: Hydrogen peroxide and sodium chloride.
- Maltodextrin.
- Terpenes: Eugenol, Geraniol and Timol.
- Cerevisane.
- Pyrethrins obtained from other plants than Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium.
The CAAE considers that this Regulation opens up a wide range of possibilities for incorporating new inputs into the organic production sector that can count on the CAAE input seal.
The inclusion of humic and fulvic acids in Annex I of the RCE 889/2008 is relevant, since according to CAAE, it has been a demand from the Spanish ecological sector for years and is very positive for this sector, which is constantly growing and faces new challenges every year.
In the CAAE they have an Input Application, a guarantee tool for the control of inputs that can be used in organic farming and which contains all the inputs that have certificates, with daily updates.
