Following the explosion at the Tianjiayi Chemical Plant in Yancheng Xiangshui on 21st March, the Work Safety Commission of the State Council circulated an urgent notice requesting the immediate implementation of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s instructions on treatment of the explosion incident. The Work Safety Commission of the State Council addressed the importance and urgency of work safety, having made arrangements to prevent and control the occurrence of major accidents.
The State Council has asked for a nation-wide check and elimination of hidden dangers existing during the manufacturing and storage of hazardous chemicals. A special study is to be made on the safety of production and storage of hazardous chemicals in all regions in China, and enterprises involving production process and storage are to be placed under careful review and assessment. A risk evaluation is being conducted on all chemical industrial parks, in a bid to eliminate any hidden dangers in a timely manner.
